The E46 Compact is 99% E46 Coupe/Sedan/Touring (rear sway bar being the last 1% as far as I know) and has a rear end looking like so: So as “Compacts” they (E36 & E46) have nothing in common whatsoever.

Lastly I think you will find in most cases the coup has a higher INSURANCE rate than sedan because of accident rate experience. Summary--coup looks nicer, sedan looks great also (BMW), sedan is more practical and still has great looks. Reply Like. J.
yep technology has changed. i years ago bought some OE angel eyes for my E46 because i wanted it to look period correct. lots of hassle to retrofit OE coronas. on my M3 still wanting period correct i made some that look like E39 color. so removed a set of LEDs (after a month that i was giving a try) and installed these. always loved the remote
