With everything Valve has going for them asset wise I’m fairly sure they didn’t make Half-Life: Alyx for the money (heavily hinted by it being a VR exclusive). I do agree with your first point, but at this point Valve is not in the VR market software side to make money because frankly $40-what not million is not a lot for them.
