I've known friends repair soft top damage like this using a tent repair kit purchased from a camping shop. These are pre-glued patches that cover the tear. A lot less ugly than either stitching and gluing or gaffer tape. Also, they stay stuck after the hood has been raised and lowered a few times.
2. MuffinRacing. • 5 yr. ago. With the price difference between the soft top and RF, you could replace the soft top 1-3 times with the money you save (depending on how you would option a soft top). That would keep you with a good condition soft top with minimal maintenance for a long, long time.
The hardtop to me looks a little better but the st to me is the way to go. You get that open feeling which the miata is all about. Cheap fun that you get in a throw the top down in a second. I agree, but some people want to see the world burn and slash your soft top even though nothing is visible in the car.
